New Study Reveals Family Separation is a Common Occurrence in U.S. Immigration
"We were stunned to discover just how the process of immigration is a process of families becoming separated over time and reunited," said Marcelo Suarez-Orozco, who documented the phenomenon with his fellow New York University education professor and wife, Carola, in a study that they published this spring. "It breaks your heart to look at this data."
